Hello Art Lovers!

I just updated my Portfolio page. There, you will find most of my AP Studio work. There isn’t any work from outside of that class though, I’m still working on shooting them.

I love this; I wish I knew how to make prints.
Don’t we all feel like this sometimes?

Neon is coming back in style…

Uhm, ew. Wow, did we really need yet ANOTHER neon come back? I mean the 80s were bad enough, and then the whole “scene” neon hair and pants thing when I was in eighth and ninth grade was pretty bad as well. The good thing is that we know who to blame for this fashion crisis: Kesha (or as she spells it: Ke$ha). First of all, stop spelling your stage name with a dollar sign; that’s dumb. Second of all, stop wearing neon feathers and neon tribal. It’s tacky. Maybe I’m just a natural kind of girl and don’t like the idea of taking away the natural color of an already beautiful feather, but really, it’s too much. What’s slightly disappointing is that good stores, such as American Apparel are in on the neon. I haven’t been in recently, so maybe (hopefully) they’re not selling neon feather hair clip ins like everyone else, but from what I see in the window displays, they are selling a lot of bright neon hipster clothing. Ugh. It’s not ironic guys, it’s just kind of tacky.

THANKS KE$HA.

Shopping with my… teacher?

Today after my Saturday afternoon class, one of my roommates and our neighbor went shopping with our fashion fundamentals teacher. Since my roommate and I are not from Ohio, we felt it necessary to be taken to one of the hippest shopping locations in Columbus: the Short North. I must say, it was quite hip (and I know hip). If I had more cash on me, I probably would have bought more than just a vintage sequin beaded vest (oh my gawhhhd it is so cute). If I do decide to go to CCAD for college, I will definitely make many visits to this social scene.

That’s how I live my life. RECKLESS.

Fashion Class

is probably my most difficult class at CCAD College Preview. The reason I say this is because there is so much work involved. By Friday (tomorrow) I need to have 30 sketches for my clothing line that all share a common theme. Right now I have seven. I also have a research project due on Saturday that I haven’t started writing yet. You see, all of this work could be accomplished in a reasonable amount of time, except that my schedule is full of trips to museums and artist lectures and writing other papers. Soooo I have a few looong nights ahead of me.
